1.Embrace of the future

Description :
I have chosen this picture because it shows the theme of embrace of the future.

Explain :
The world's tallest twin building . Petronas Twin Towers is the anchor project of Kuala Lumpur City Center or KLCC. Standing at 451.9M high, it has a two towers of 88-storey office building. The 1.8 bil Ringgit Petronas Twin Towers building was officially opened on August 31, 1999 by Malaysia's 4th Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad. The Petronas Twin Towers was designed by Argentinian architect Cesar Pelli. The original design was 421M tall but later reworked to the present height.

2. Freezing of the Past


Description :
This shop located opposite Petaling Street is best showing the theme of freezing of the past.

Explain :
The old looking shop is showing the old style of design.
Even though there been years that this building have built , but yet the old style of design will still remain as the historical building . This is why the shop is still remain at there , freezing of the past.

3.Transition between the Past and the Present


Description:
I have chosen this picture because from the picture , we can see the theme of transition between the past and the present.

Explain :
This two building located near Petaling Street is showing two different design . one is the modern and one is the ancient . As we can see from the picture , the modern building usually will have a lot glass and very simple .
Whereas the ancient design will have less glass but more on design . From this angle of the picture , we can clearly see the transition between the past and the present.

4.Cultural Crossroads


Description :
This two shop is showing the theme of cultural crossroads .

Explain :
This two shop that own by different culture owner have placed together . It’s best showing the theme of cultural crossroads . This is also representing the malaysia best culture , where there can be multi culture placed together .

5. Collapsing Identity



Description:
This picture is showing a bookshop It have used the new concept of design but yet keeping the old material. This shows the collapsing of identify.

Explain :
Base on the exterior , we can see that it look like very old fashion but yet quite contemporary design. It have air-cond and a lot glass outside the building to make it look modern , but keeping the ancient shape of architecture building. This picture is best showing of the collapsing of the identity of the theme of collapsing of identity.

1.Embrace of the future


Description :

Explain :
Twin tower Malaysia is a symbol of the future on behalf of Malaysia. It is the application of a wide variety of design concepts and new manufacturing materials to create and complete. And it were used hierarchy, tranformation, symmetry, rhythm, and repetition of design elements.In addition, his height is a model for future, because it was nominated the world's top10 highest building. Therefore, we are proud of it and step in the future.

2. Freezing of the Past


Description:
This is a old street of near in jalan petaling . It showed the side of freezing . While this is a dilapidated old house, but there are also beautiful and prosperous when the long time ago. However, after the passage of time it is freezing into a old street.

Explain :
In this era of progress and prosperity that everyone wants are the latest and best. People today just have interest for attractive things. Therefore, some streets in the past and things are slowly being forgotten and abandoned. Then , become useless on the streets now. Just for let other people walk to other place. Although it is located in the city center, but still very lonely.

3.Transition between the Past and the Present


Description:
On the near of Jalan Petaling have some old building and some new building build at same place , there show the transition between the past and the present.
Explain :

On the picture , you can see the model architecture building and old architecture building between the place of Jalan Petaling. The difference of there model building and old building is the material. Example like the windows, wall, roof ,and some part of the exterior. The model building is use glass , aluminium ,and brick. It interior is use air-cond to support the air movement. Then the old building is most use timber to build. Therefore proved the old building improve to strong.

4.Cultural Crossroads


Description :
The Chinese have been in Kuala Lumpur ever since its founding back in 1857. Yap Ah Loy was an integral character in the development of K.L and it is him that contributed to the success of Petaling Street . This Chinese dominated area would be known to tourists as Chinatown but to the locals, it is affectionately referred to by its eponymous road name. It is more affectionately know to the Chinese Malaysians as Chi-Cheong-Kai in Cantonese but till this day there has been no reasoning or meaning behind it. Petaling Street maintains much of its traditional atmosphere, particularly at night when vendors peddle their wares on the streets.

Explain :
Petaling Street is the center of Kuala Lumpur's original Chinatown. It's the place that never sleeps. Adventurous visitors should not miss a walk on Petaling Street.Even in daytime you have great bargains. Petaling Street is not open for the traffic. It is a great place for locals to get some goods at bargain prices and certainly an eye-opening experience for tourists.Chinatown has a bustling market serving as a bargain hunter's paradise and one of the premier shopping areas in the city with its distinctly oriental atmosphere.If you're looking for cheap clothes, fabrics, souvenirs, electronic items, watches, DVDs, CDs and more? Then Petaling Street is the place for you.

5. Collapsing Identity


Description:
This building is a bookshop. It use the new architecture concept , but still use the old material. This show the collapsing of identify.

Explain :
When u look on the exterior . Actually look like a model architecture building. Because the building concept and function is use from now. But the collapsing of identify is the material. You can see the windows, and the shop’s signboard is too old on now. Then the new concept building is use air-cond for the interior, and change the wall to brick. Like that can strong better than timber.

1.Embrace of the future


Description: The most representative buildings in Malaysia to help me explain the theme to embrace of the future. The most building is at Kuala Lumpur, building name is Petronas Twin Towers (Petronas Towers or Twin Towers). The architect is Cesar Pelli. The Twin Towers build from 1992 until 1998 to complete.

Explain: The building form is like a mirror twins or emit the same shape. People at a glance is a twin building. There The towers feature a skybridge between the two towers on 41st and 42nd floors, which is the highest 2-story bridge in the world. It is not attached to the main structure, but is instead designed to slide in and out of the towers to prevent it from breaking during high winds. The towers also has rhythm, transformation and hierarchy symmetry. But it’s at the bottom of a shopping center. Who can make good time sightseeing more enjoyable. The twin towers is build by steel frames supporting the square concrete floors that hold the building together. The core of the building is made of steel poles that support the 99 lifts in it. Also the facing materials are aluminum and steel supported with glass and the roof and door is using glass.

Description: The site is at petaling street .These buildings all is old building.

Explain: Before the Form of triangular shape are used to build a building, there will get a number of details of the design on the exterior makes him look more beautiful. The window and they are to do with wood, these are not removed on the building because the state must retain some history so that light and understanding of the Malaysia tourism objective.

3.Transition between the Past and the Present


Description: The site also is at central market –Petaling Street. This is a blend of the old buildings and new construction, to tell it to express different in the past.

Explain: Traditional gender roles are slowly undergoing change, Previous building and the building now to compared to some is now more solid and sturdy construction. The two buildings are very different form, one is completely built using ordinary bricks, one brick mixed with iron and built. Of course, before the building will be thrown into details but now most of the buildings have to feel like, but also will put the glass. This is the present and past, respectively.

4.Cultural Crossroads


Description: Site of Petaling Street is a Chinatown located in Kuala Lumpur. The original Chinatown centred on Market Square. High Street, now known as Jalan Tun H.S.Lee, became increasingly popular as it was higher than the rest of the town and therefore less prone to floods. The wealthier and more ornate shop houses were built north of Jalan Cheng Lock, closer to the business centre.

Explain: In this culture, Petaling Street with different Chinese culture has, and its shape is completely open, so air circulation and cooling of its glass roof is used. And it is used outside the door of the roof before roof of the ancient Chinese tradition, it seems there are Chinese style, also get some very details of the pattern on both sides of the roof.

5. Collapsing Identity


Description: The site at Petaling Street near .

Explain: The building has a past and present shape the design of mixing, so the building looks very modern and contemporary. Its roof is used and the materials before the completion of the roof and his roof is also triangular as before, of course, it also has used its modern glass and put it outside the building with modern design. The whole building is, but it seems to keep up with the modern trend of previous designs.
