1.Embrace of the future


Description :
This building is named Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, that houses the Petronas Twin Towers. It is located at Kuala Lumpur.

Explanation :
The visual represents the theme of Embrace Of The Future because the design of this Building much more
simple and clean which is called modern architecture. They use a lot of modern materials such as iron, steel,
and glass. It was based on the “rational” use of modern materials, the principles of functionalist planning, and
the rejection of historical precedent and ornament. This style has been generally designated as modern.
As Primary driven by technological and engineering developments, and it is true that the availability of new
building material such as iron, steel, and glass drove the Building techniques as partof the industrial revolution.

2. Freezing of the Past


Description :
The old colonial building which is located around central market. Located at Jalan Hang Kasturi, a few
minutes away from Petaling Street. This is one of the Kl attractions which is very popular and worth visiting.

Explanation :
This is one of the Kl attractions which is very popular and worth visiting.The visual represents the theme Freezing Of Past because this is a old colonial building. They still remain the design of the building from previous design until now. They maintain the elements of design, detail, material, colors or more than that.

3.Transition between the Past and the Present


Description :
The old colonial building which is located around central market. Located at Jalan Hang Kasturi, a few minutes away from Petaling Street. This is one of the Kl attractions which is very popular and worth visiting.

Explanation :
This shophouse was represents the theme Transition Between The Past and The Present. The past design is much more detailed, and the materials used is wood. But now, they change the design to more simple. Besides that, they also use iron and glass to replace the old materials and change the color of the building from colorful to more simple. This will show the transformation of the previous design to the present design.

4.Cultural Crossroads


Description :
This building is Central Market, located at Jalan Hang Kasturi, a few minutes away from Petaling Street. This is one of the Kl attractions which is very popular and worth visiting.

Explanation :
It is now a landmark for Malaysian culture and heritage. Central Market has created a corner to display multi-
ethnicity and the stalls are zoned based on the features of each race. The new zone therefore would consists of 3 lanes namely the Lorong Melayu, Straits Chinese and Lorong India. The purpose of this new zone is to let the visitors have an insight of the cultural difference of the various races in Malaysia. There is also a Malacca Jonker street – a street featuring double-storey and single-storey Baba-Nyonya styled architectural buildings, The colorful Malaysia Traditional Cultural and Arts events are presented at the Central Market Outdoor Stage. Central Market celebrates all the Traditional Festivals of each race in Malaysia.

5. Collapsing Identity


Description :
This is Petaling Street, or we called it as Chinatown, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. There got sell a lot of pirated things.

Explanation :
The design of Petaling Street is modern architecture design mixed with old colonial design. This will make us confuse that which one is the identity of Petaling street. Such as Petaling street is a place full with history, you can see how the design of the shophouse inside the petaling street. That is much more old design. But when you look at the design of the roof, the material use is much more modern which are iron and glass. That why we can’t determine the identity of Petaling Street. This represents the theme Collapsing Of Identity.
