2. Freezing of the Past
Description: This Old Shop House photo take from petaling street.
Explanation: I found that the city has a rich collection of buildings and structures of various architectural styles, including the areas of the former foreign architecture in early 20th century. During decades, but also traditional Chinese buildings, displays an even greater array of its particular type of architecture. It was the most commemorative part of the trip :when I strolled along the streets, it seemed to tell a story in the past. Consequently, I think that people should preserve the old buildings of a city in order to keep its cultural qualities.
3.Transition between the Past and the Present
Description: The original Chinatown centred on Market Square. High Street, now known as Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, became increasingly popular as it was higher than the rest of the town and therefore less prone to floods.
Explanation: From 1882 to 1896, Petaling Street is a shop, a brothel, opium den and a common gaming house, now the location of roads and shops completely in mind.
Petaling Street to have the position today, with a few streets nearby, such as Si Shi Street, Sudan Street, High Street, London Lee Hyo-style road, etc. have great implications.
The place has been renovated since; transparent roofs have been built overhead and re-constructed roadworks have made the streets shopper-friendly. This is especially good for tourists as one is able to while away hours of shopping and food-tasting regardless it’s rain or shine.
